Yes. These providers, and others, provide a "bring your own access" plan. This allows you to first, connect to DialMaine, and then utilize their network over your DialMaine connection. The options for this type of connection are usually in the sign-in section of the respective software.
Your DialMaine account provides you with 50 megabytes of personal web space for your own web page. The first thing you will want to do is create a web page. There are many kinds of software to use for this (such as: Adobe GoLive, Adobe Dreamweaver and Microsoft FrontPage). Additionally, any text creator can create HTML pages (such as Notepad, Simple Text, Microsoft Word). Many Web sites offer instructions on writing HTML pages (such as www.learnthenet.com or www.aaahtml.com).
Once you have created your site, you will need to upload it to your personal web space. To do this, you can use your web page creation software, or a separate FTP client to upload the files to shell.dialmaine.com, using your primary DialMaine username and password. We also support SCP (Secure Copy) if you prefer to use that.
After uploading your HTML pages, anyone in the world can surf to your Web site by going to
http://members.dialmaine.com/username
Be sure to replace "username" with the primary username for your account.
